Loch Ness 2 day tour.
This is the monster of tours! Two big legendary days out and about the Scottish highlands. Take to the high road and see a wee bit of everything, castles, whisky distilleries, highlands and Jacobite story telling. Pleasant scenic drives and interesting stops along the way, including seeing the Great Glen and stunning Glencoe. Go explore the deep murky waters of Loch in search of nessie by boat. Another favourite place to see is at Glen Finnan, where in 1745 bonnie Prince Charlie raised the clans in battle cry “Prosperity to Scotland and No Union”.
Day 1 – North bound via Stirling, to stop at the pretty wee village of Dunkeld, on the banks of the River Tay. Another (optional) stop on the way at a whisky distillery for tasting. Followed by a very scenic drive across quieter countryside and moorland off the main busy highway. At StrathMashie a nature trail for some fresh air and drive by Loch Laggan to next stop at the dam wall. Then the road follows the Great Glen up to Loch Ness. A nice wee boat cruise (optional) tells you more about Nessie and to see the ruined Urquhart Castle.
Day 2 – Driving back down the Great Glen and follow another wee highland road beside the Caledonian canal and make our way to Glen Finnan. Stunning romantic location where in 1745 the Jacobites clans gather and are lead by their Prince to war. Also of note is the Victorian viaduct railway bridge and was used for the Harry Potter filming and the tourist steam engine runs the West Highland track. From Fort William to another beauty spot Glencoe and Loch Lomond before Glasgow.
